The Jane Community Agreements

Our Janes Agree to the Following:

We believe that language matters.

We commit to using language that is respectful, accessible and inclusive.

We know our space isn’t perfect and we will make mistakes.

We commit to learning and calling each other into growth instead of calling each other out in shame. We move at the speed of trust.

We are curious and respectful

We consider how our words/actions might impact others and focus on impact over intent.

We take care of ourselves first.

We eat, drink, yawn, stretch when we need to.

We honor confidentiality.

We respect the privacy and confidentiality of our space.

We take space/make space.

We encourage Janes that are often quiet to challenge themselves to take up more space, and Janes who are usually talkative to leave room for other voices.

We speak from our own experience

We use “I” statements and avoid generalizations.

We commit to Anti-Racism

Whether we identify as white or BIPOC/Global Majority, we commit to dismantle racism in all its forms: anti-Black, anti-Asian, anti-Latinx, anti-Indigenous, anti-MENA. We ask all Janes to read/view our DEI Resources page before entering our space.

We honor our past.

We honor the land on which the flagship Jane Club location stands - the traditional territory of the Tongva tribe of indigenous people. We acknowledge them and their elders, past and present.

We honor our present.

At the Jane Club we’re committed to diversity, equity and inclusion as a priority and shared value in all aspects of our organization and work.  We ask all Janes to read/view our DEI Resources page before entering our space.

Specifically, we host events, dialogues, and issue-based gatherings throughout the year. We also pay our employees a living wage: an amount that exceeds the minimum wage.

We honor the future.

Since the conception of our digital membership, The Jane Club has never turned someone away for financial reasons. One of the ways we’re able to continue making our membership accessible to all is through our Angel Jane program.

This past year, we have seen women drop out of the workplace at an alarming rate. The Jane Club serves a direct need by creating the village to help women thrive, while juggling work, family and personal life.

We’re all in this together.

BECOME AN ANGEL JANE —>
